Creative fatigue detection

Quick answer

When a winning Meta or TikTok creative has burnt out. The four signals (frequency, CPA, CTR, comment sentiment) and why rotation usually beats pausing the audience.

2 min read•Updated February 25, 2026

Creative fatigue is the single most predictable ad leak. If an ad has been running for more than 21 days and frequency has climbed past 4.0, it's almost certainly burnt.

The signals

  • Frequency > 4.0 over a 7-day window.
  • CPA climbing: 7-day CPA at least 40% above the 28-day baseline.
  • CTR declining: 7-day CTR at least 30% below the 28-day baseline.
  • Comment sentiment shifting: applies on Meta when comments are enabled. We score sentiment and flag when it skews negative.

What to do

Rotate, don't pause. The audience and offer usually still work. It's the hook, the visual, or the copy that's burnt. Test a new creative with the same audience and budget first.

What Omesta ships

A "rotate" recommendation per fatigued creative, with suggested new hook angles generated from your best-performing historical copy.
